- In the general survey, what are the special considerations on the approach of assessing infants, children and adults?
- How do you describe skin lesions?
- Discuss and differentiate the 4 primary techniques used in Physical assessment:
- What are the 2 kinds of palpation and when are they used
- Discuss the different sounds heard on Percussion
- Why should visual acuity be assessed before palpation of the structures of the eye?
- Differentiate between Weber’s test and Rinne’s test
- Identify the landmarks of the chest
- Discuss the type, description, location and characteristics of normal breath sounds
- Identify the anatomic sites of the precordium
- What is the normal antero-posterior diameter and tranverse diameter of the thorax? What is the clinical implication if there is a deviation?
- Illustrate the different methods of palpation of the breasts
- How should you proceed in the assessment of the abdomen? Discuss the chronological sequence of techniques in the assessment of the abdomen
- Divide the abdomen into quadrants and regions and enumerate the organs found in each of them
- What is the normal abdominal girth? What are the implications of the deviations?
- What is the normal bowel sound? Discuss the deviations.
